Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Purpose of Position

Project management of allocated super yacht or residential/commercial projects.

Drive the order conversion of allocated projects with a pro-active technical back up of the business.

Key remit is: Order conversion, Customer satisfaction professional cost management & running of the project to the relevant contractual terms.

Duties and Responsibilities

Pre Order

  • Give technical & quotation support to both the Sales Manager and directly to the customer of allocated projects, support the sales activity to enhance the likelihood of winning the project.
  • Working closely with the Sales and Technical teams, ensure the products offered are within the scope and ability of Oceanair and offered within a timeline achievable within a managed project.

Project Management – Post Order

  • Take ‘project ownership’ of allocated projects, coordinating the required aspects to deliver to the project, on time, on budget, in full.
  • Make site visits as required to maintain the professional management of the projects.
  • Maintain a detailed time plan of allocated projects, advising details into the master forecast for Oceanair.
  • Develop a team philosophy, working with the relevant Sales, Production & Technical Teams to deliver the project in line with the project contract.
  • Via regular project review meetings, work closely with Oceanair Technical and Production teams to plan and co-ordinate each project through the Oceanair system.
  • Undertake specific site management to maintain the contractual position of the project at the point of delivery and installation if required.
  • Maintain a project file of all key communications.
  • Target a high customer satisfaction for the complete turnkey delivery of the allocated projects.
  • Maintain a detailed cost and reconciliation of all projects to make sure they are meeting the targeted profit. Project in excess of £50k will require a final report to the Board of Directors.
  • Manage all aspects of the survey and installation service, targeting a 15% gross margin on this section of the projects.

General

  • Undertake other tasks as may be required from time to time by the Directors of Oceanair Marine Limited.

Scope of role/responsibilities

  • Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.
  • Review samples drawings and instructions to understand job specifications.
  • Take measurements and mark material for all work.
  • Select appropriate machines and tooling to be able to carry out the task in hand.
  • Be able and competent to select the correct speeds on machines depending on materials.
  • Monitor machines while working.
  • Keep records of defective final products.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and keep records.

Required experience

  • Proven experience as a machinist.
  • Experience in using and /or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machinery.
  • Ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurements.
  • Knowledge of material properties.
  • Ability to read drawings, schematics and manuals.
  • Good at mathematics and analytical abilities.
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship would be an asset.

Purpose of Role

  • Support SKYsol area with draughting and maintain Oceanair’s engineering database and generic bills of materials.
  • To support the product designers and engineering team with drafting as necessary.
  • To create sales support drawings for a wide range of internationally based customers using Oceanair custom products in specific applications.

Main Responsibilities

  • Production of 2d drawings to support Sales and Manufacturing
  • Ensure drawings are correctly issued, labelled, saved electronically and detailed to applicable engineering standards.
  • Work to guidelines given as required for product designs meeting recognised standards.
  • Problem resolution
  • Maintenance of accurate records of superseded designs and drawing data.
  • Production of drawings and schemes for sales purposes.

  • Prepare, test finish and press finished items for despatch, using sewing machines, irons and all other equipment provided, following standard or bespoke manufacturing process methods and instructions

Job Title: Blind Installation Engineer

Purpose of Role

To install and fit Oceanair blinds in the UK and overseas and when not booked manufacture Oceanair blinds. To be an ambassador for Oceanair and Oceanair products.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Fabrication:  Fabricate Oceanair blinds out to a high standard and in a timely manner ensuring customer satisfaction.

 

  1. Surveying: Survey potential blind installations on both boats and other sites, ensuring all relevant customer data is noted so blinds can be accurately made including templating as necessary.

 

  1. Installation:
  • Install Oceanair blinds at various customer locations, primarily the UK and Europe but also around the world. In doing so it may be necessary to overcome local difficulties and resolve installation problems in the field.
  • This work will involve nights away from home and working independently in luxury boats and homes. Long distance travel will be required.
  • “Before and after” digital photographs of all installs
  • Once installation completed, get work signed off by the responsible person.

 

  1. Boat Shows:  Provide driving support for Boatshows as requested – e.g., driving cars, vans and HGV vehicles as appropriate. Erect and dismantle Oceanair boat show stands at selected shows.

 

  1. Training:  Once you are proficient in the installation there will be a need to train others from our dealer networks.

 

  1. General:
  • Keep up to date and accurate records of hours work and job details for costing purposes.
  • Work at other Oceanair sites as and when requested
  • Be responsible and look after the tools acquired belonging to Oceanair. Maintain an inventory- copy to be kept with Sales.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Experience
